So a few weeks ago, I found an old ps2 in a garage sale for $2. The lady who sold it said it wouldn't play ps2 silver-back games, so I opened it up and tinkered around with it for a few days, trying to get it to work. It'd play ps1 and blue-back games just fine, but those confounded silvers got the best of me every stinking time.
I recalibrated the laser guide rails, I cleaned the laser, I dusted it out, I regreased the slider bars, I did everything I could find to do to it, and still couldn't make it work. >=/
My solution? Sell it off to a game store and see if I could make a profit. XD; GameTraders wouldn't take it because it was an original model ps2 (and I still don't understand why, it plays just the same...) so I took it to where I work. My boss couldn't get it to work, and was going to buy it as defective. Unsatisfied by this, I trekked down to GameStop, ps2 in tow, and tried my luck there.
She plugged it in and put in a silver-back game. I waited for it to read "disc error" as it had been since I got it.
It didn't. IT LOADED. I tried to mask my glee. I couldn't believe it! Does this mean I actually managed to fix it?

Or was it, as mom put it, "my angel with a screwdriver helped me out". X3;
I had to buy some av cords in order to sell it to them, but it was worth it. I got $20 for the damned thing, making a total profit of $16. Not too shabby.
So what did I do with my new found fundage? Went back to work and got myself a gamecube. X3 He even threw in the wireless controller I wanted for no extra charge!
In summary, $2 PS2 + dumb luck = FREE GAMECUBE. HELLZ YEAH.

I think you've captured Byakuya's inner dork very well.
